Illustration Friday—Explore

I think photographs from space telescopes and unmanned craft are so lovely. The farther away we explore, the closer we get to knowing who we are.

Illustration Friday—Water

If you have a memory of a lake you have in your remembrance a place to visit, a tranquility to draw from, a calm to wash away pain and a source of renewal.

Illustration Friday—Mirror

This mirror hung at the turn of the stairs in our old house in Detroit. We brought it with us to Pittsburgh; our remembrance of gracious living.

Illustration Friday—book

The usual state of my Library books, scattered on the carpet. I suppose it's better than dirty dishes. I won't be polling the other residents though.

Illustration Friday—Imagination

I know, a stick figure. It says possibility to me. And I could use a dose of possibility.

Illustration Friday—Lonely

My little friend was outside my window the day I was

I felt lonely too.

Illustration Friday—Space

Making more space. That's this week's theme for me. I brought an old desk home from Michigan. In the process of fitting it into our office/studio space we had to move things around. Some how in all of this I ended up with more space. Funny enough, I feel more expansive. I feel suddenly I can do more. I should show a drawing of my bigger space but I love this picture. So no studio depictions just a view of earth from space. Notice how I keep using the word space?

Illustration Friday—Hurry

My skinny little cat. She's waiting for my husband to come and take her outside. She's an indoor cat but she likes to poke her head out into the wide world as long as she is safe in his arms. I feel exactly the same.

Illustration Friday—Hitched

I don't know what it is I like about this picture, it's all wrong. Nevertheless, I do like it. Perhaps it reminds me of my husband and me. I've been known to be blue, he has never been green. Though, he did have food poisoning once.

Illustration Friday—Jump

Stick people are not my usual mode. I did it quickly and freely. I sent this to my husband as I send him a drawing everyday, Monday–Friday. He opined that we should indeed jump and jump together. I like that, I like that a lot.

Illustration Friday—Puzzled

This looked much better in my head. I guess you could say I'm puzzled. Win some lose some.

Illustration Friday—Return

Return. The return of spring as evidenced by the return of the flora.
In Detroit the return of spring was heralded by the F.B.I. going out to the woods and digging for Jimmy Hoffa. They never found him and they never fooled anyone. They just wanted to spend time outdoors after the cold winter.

Illustration Friday—Swamp

We have boggy meadows and mossy damp lawns but not much in the way of swamps, more wetlands.

Illustration Friday—Intention

I begin each day with good intentions, ambitious intentions. I try to do my best, but my best isn't the same from day to day.

Illustration Friday—Twirl

This was my birthday present from my Father-in-law. It's glass and hangs on our front porch. When it twirls in the morning sun it shoots rainbow shards of light all over the living room.

Illustration Friday—Prepare

Pear blossoms. Pre-pear. Get it? Pre-pear. Oh come on, there's 50 more entries with the same bad pun.
